State Mandated Assessments
NWEA Early Literacy Assessment (Dyslexia Screener)
Grades: K-2 | Fall
A universal screener designed to assess foundational reading skills and aligned with Indiana law (SB 217) is administered to identify students who may need additional support. This screener is used in conjunction with other reading assessments to determine whether a child requires targeted intervention in specific areas of early literacy. While the NWEA Early Literacy Screener can help predict potential indicators of future reading challenges, including traits associated with dyslexia, it does not serve as a formal diagnosis of dyslexia or any reading disability.
ILEARN (Indiana Learning Evaluation Assessment Readiness Network)
Grades: 3-8 | Spring
ILEARN is Indiana’s summative accountability assessment that evaluates student achievement and growth in alignment with the Indiana Academic Standards. It is administered in the following subjects and grade levels:
- English/Language Arts and Math for Grades 3–8

This assessment provides a comprehensive measure of how well students are mastering grade-level expectations.
